A Day with You
I want a day with you, simple and true,
where it’s just us, with nothing to do.
To see your messy morning hair,
your sleepy eyes, your face so bare.
I want to watch you sit and just be,
no worries, no pressure – completely free.
I’ll make you breakfast, you’ll take a bite,
and I’ll smile, watching you in the morning light.
A lazy day, no rush, no race,
just the sunlight warming our little space.
You’ll water the plants, and with a sly grin,
splash me with water, laughter will begin.
We’ll pick a movie, your favorite kind,
with popcorn and drinks, no clock to mind.
Later, we’ll cook, a glass of wine near,
talking and laughing, with nothing to fear.
Dinner by candlelight, soft and slow,
a quiet moment where love can grow.
And as the night wraps us in its care,
I’ll watch you resting, peaceful and fair.
A kiss on your forehead, I’ll softly say,
“This was our perfect, beautiful day.”
